Reminder….Test Review Session Tuesday….. and Test Wednesday

Don’t forget we will take the Middle East Geography Unit Test on Wednesday. I will be holding a test review session Tuesday from 8:10 AM- 8:40 AM. I will meet students at the front of the school promptly at 8:10 AM. Please use the resources contained in this blog as well as your study guide (See the September 25th post) to help you prepare for the test.

Monday- September 29, 2014

Period 5 – Students presented their religions multimedia presentations. If your group did not present today, please be prepared to present at the beginning of the class period tomorrow!

Periods 1, 2 and 4- Today we learned how the literacy rate impacts the standard of living. DONT FORGET to submit your Middle East Religions Brochure Performance Task by Tuesday (tomorrow).

Task: Watch the news report below. Cite specific evidence from the news report that explains how dropouts negatively impact the nation’s economy. Remember to stick to the topic, relate information and connect to the text. This task will be scored using the Floyd Middle School BCR rubric.

Students learned about the three MONOTHEISTIC religions that originated in Southwest Asia (Middle East).

Some students completed: 3-Religions-Graphic Organizer   Christianity-PPT     Islam PPT     Judaism-PPT

others completed: 3 Religions Reading    3 Religions Triple Venn Diagram

Period  5 (AC) only: You will be working in your assigned groups to learn about Judaism, Christianity and Islam. Each group member will have specific role. Your task will be to create and present a 5 minute multimedia presentation (PowerPoint, Prezi, or Movie).  We will meet in the computer lab all this week!
