Using what you know about economic systems and the information from the the chart listed above, read the scenario below and complete the task that follows.

At Cobb County Middle School, the cafeteria manager and the principal determ what foods will be sold in the cafeteria. They select the foods they believe are healthy for the students. Their goal is to provide a nutritional meals using government purchased products. To make sure that all students can afford lunch, they sell the meals a very low price.

The manager and principal do not consider what the students like or want to eat for lunch. They refuse to change the menu because they think the foods that students want are unhealthy. Students are stagin a silent protest by bringing their lunch rather than purchasing a lunch from the cafeteria.

Your Task

Open aWord document via Office 365. Explain how the principal and the cafeteria manager are running the school like a command economy. Rewrite the scenario to show how the cafeteria might be run more like a business in a market economy. Then discuss the major advantages and disadvantages of each way of running the cafeteria. Provide examples to support your answer.
